  • 16 oz potato gnocchi
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ball burrata cheese
  • fresh basil for garnish
  • 1 tbsp butter optional

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Cook gnocchi in salted boiling water until they float. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer 8–10 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream and Parmesan. Simmer until creamy.
  5. Add gnocchi to the sauce and toss to coat.
  6. Serve with burrata, basil, and a drizzle of olive oil.

Notes

Burrata melts into the sauce beautifully — add it just before serving for the best texture.
