Apple Filling
  • 6 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup butterscotch chips
Crisp Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Toss apples with sugars, spices, lemon juice, flour, and butterscotch chips.
  2. Transfer apple mixture to greased baking dish.
  3. Mix oat topping ingredients and sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake until topping is golden and filling is bubbly.
