Apple Mixture
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Cook apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until softened.
  2. Preheat waffle iron.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Whisk milk, egg, butter, and vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients and fold in apples.
  6. Cook batter in waffle iron until golden.
  7. Prepare glaze and dip or drizzle over waffle donuts.
