Method
- Make the dough by mixing dry ingredients and adding water, butter, and oil.
- Knead dough and let rise 1 hour.
- Prepare tomato sauce and simmer until thickened.
- Press dough into pan and build high sides.
- Layer mozzarella directly onto dough.
- Add sausage or fillings.
- Add tomato sauce and sprinkle with parmesan.
- Bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Cool 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Line pan with butter for a true 'butter crust' finish.
