Method
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Season and sear short ribs.
- Cook onions and garlic, then add tomato paste.
- Deglaze with bourbon.
- Add broth, balsamic, sugar, herbs, and spices.
- Return ribs to pot and braise for 2.5–3 hours.
- Reduce braising liquid to a glaze.
- Serve warm with sauce spooned over ribs.
