Mac and Cheese
  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups cooked brisket chopped
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup smoked gouda cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika

Method
 

  1. Cook macaroni until al dente and drain.
  2. Prepare roux with butter and flour, then whisk in milk and cream.
  3. Stir in cheeses until melted and smooth.
  4. Season sauce and fold in macaroni and brisket.
  5. Serve immediately or bake until bubbly.

Notes

Add a splash of milk when reheating to maintain creaminess.
