Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups pecans chopped and toasted

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare loaf pan.
  2. Toast pecans and let cool.
  3. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  4. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla.
  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  7. Fold in pecans.
  8. Bake 55–65 minutes until done.

Notes

Toast pecans for best flavor. Do not overmix batter.
