Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 0.75 cup warm milk 110°F/43°C
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Filling
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter softened
Topping
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Method
 

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let foam 5–10 minutes.
  2. Mix melted butter, egg, remaining sugar, salt, and flour to form dough. Knead and let rise 1 hour.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread butter, and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar filling.
  4. Roll tightly, slice into 12 rolls.
  5. Mix topping ingredients in a baking dish and place rolls on top. Let rise 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden. Invert onto platter.

Notes

Prepare a day ahead for stress-free holiday breakfasts. These buns stay soft for 2–3 days when stored covered.
