Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp
  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tsp salt
Filling
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Pecan Caramel Topping
  • 1 cup pecan halves lightly toasted optional
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let it foam for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix in flour, sugar, egg, butter, and salt to form dough. Knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled.
  3. Make caramel topping by melting butter, brown sugar, honey, cream, and salt. Pour into pan and top with pecans.
  4. Roll out dough, spread with butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar.
  5. Roll into log, slice into 12 pieces.
  6. Place rolls over caramel pecans, let rise until puffy.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes, invert pan, serve warm.
