Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese stirred into filling
Biscuit Topping
  • 1.5 cups biscuit mix Cheddar Bay or homemade
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef and onion in skillet until browned; drain fat.
  3. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Add beef broth and parsley; simmer 3–5 minutes. Stir in half the cheese.
  5. Pour mixture into baking dish.
  6. Mix biscuit topping: combine biscuit mix, milk, butter, garlic powder, and thyme.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough over beef mixture and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  8. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Cool slightly before serving.
