Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • oil for frying vegetable or canola
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • caramel or chocolate sauce for dipping, optional

  • Deep skillet or pot

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Lay out one egg roll wrapper with a corner facing you. Place 2 tbsp of filling in the center, fold and roll tightly, sealing with water.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Drain on paper towels. Roll each warm egg roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with caramel or chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm and fresh. Can be air fried or baked for a lighter version.
