Ingredients
  

Chicken & Garlic Gravy
  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Cheesy Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 lbs potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1 cup cheddar or parmesan shredded
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Boil potatoes until fork-tender.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Sear chicken until browned; remove from pan.
  4. Sauté garlic in butter and create a roux with flour.
  5. Add broth, cream, and seasonings; simmer until thick.
  6. Return chicken to pan and simmer in gravy.
  7. Mash potatoes with butter, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper.
  8. Plate mashed potatoes topped with chicken and garlic gravy.

Notes

Fresh garlic makes a huge difference—use at least 6 cloves for bold flavor.
