  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed about 1 cup
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup semisweet chocolate chips plus extra for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together in a bowl.

  5. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to wet mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and spread batter evenly in pan.
  7. Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden and set. Cool before slicing.
