Ingredients
  

Donut Hole Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Heat oil to 350°F in a deep pot.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. Whisk milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and fry 2–3 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels and roll in cinnamon sugar while warm.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

Best served warm. Adjust cinnamon-to-sugar ratio to taste.
