Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
Baking Soda Bath
  • 8 cups water
  • 0.5 cup baking soda
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm water with sugar for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix in flour, salt, and melted butter to form dough.
  3. Knead 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let rise 60 minutes until doubled.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F and line baking sheet.
  6. Boil water and add baking soda carefully.
  7. Shape dough into 8 pretzels.
  8. Boil each pretzel 20-30 seconds in baking soda bath.
  9. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Best served warm. Store in airtight container and reheat briefly before serving.
