- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Spoon mixture onto toasted hamburger buns and serve warm.
Notes
For a spicy version, add hot sauce or diced jalapeños. Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
