- Rinse the rice under cold water until mostly clear.
- Combine rice, coconut milk, water, sugar, salt, and coconut oil in a saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, let steam covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
Notes
Adjust sweetness and salt to taste. Garnish with toasted coconut or herbs if desired.
