  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  3. Stir in mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, pepper, and honey.
  4. Remove from heat and add parsley, thyme, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Whisk well and serve warm as a dipping or brushing sauce.

Notes

Do not brown the garlic; it will make the sauce bitter.
