Ingredients
  

Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
Wontons
  • 24 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Strawberry jam or sauce (optional, for dipping)

Method
 

  1. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture and a few diced strawberries in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Brush edges with egg wash and fold into a triangle or pouch, sealing edges tightly.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry wontons in batches until golden, about 1–2 minutes per side.
  5. Drain on paper towels or a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with strawberry sauce.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best crisp texture. Can be made ahead and fried from frozen.
