Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef in olive oil until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add cheese tortellini to skillet, stir to coat in sauce.
  5. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with parsley or basil and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes before serving.
