  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika optional
Mashed Potatoes
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes prepared
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and cook until translucent; stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Push beef to one side, melt butter, then whisk in flour to form a roux.
  4. Gradually pour in beef broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika; simmer until thickened.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a creamier gravy, stir in 2 tablespoons of cream before serving. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.
