  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups short pasta penne, rotini, shells
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 0.33 cup parmesan optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil or parsley for serving

  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground turkey in olive oil.
  2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add broth, marinara, and tomatoes; stir well.
  5. Add pasta and simmer covered until tender.
  6. Stir in mozzarella and parmesan.
  7. Top with basil or parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Add extra broth as needed while cooking.
