Ingredients
  

Chocolate Crepe Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter plus more for pan
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate syrup for spiderweb design
  • Whipped cream or fruit optional for serving

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt together.
  2. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until smooth. Rest batter for 20–30 minutes.
  4. Heat nonstick pan over medium heat, butter lightly, and cook thin crepes 1–2 minutes per side.
  5. Decorate crepes with chocolate syrup in spiderweb patterns using a squeeze bottle and toothpick.
  6. Serve immediately with whipped cream or fruit.

Notes

Use orange or white icing for a more colorful spiderweb design. Cook crepes in advance and decorate just before serving.
