Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French baguette
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped optional
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, chives, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and olive oil until combined.
  3. Slice bread in half lengthwise and spread the butter mixture evenly.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes until golden, then broil for 1–2 minutes for crisp edges.
  5. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with pasta or soup. Add cheese for a richer version.
