Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to form dough.
- Tint dough orange with food coloring.
- Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut pumpkin shapes.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool completely on wire racks.
- Decorate cooled cookies with black icing or chocolate faces.
