Ingredients
  

Batter
  • 1 cup dates chopped
  • 1 cup water boiling
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup walnuts chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare loaf pan.
  2. Soak dates in boiling water and baking soda for 10 minutes.
  3. Add butter and sugar, mix well.
  4. Mix in egg and vanilla.
  5. Stir in flour, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Fold in walnuts and pour into pan.
  7. Bake 45–55 minutes until done.
  8. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use soft Medjool dates for best flavor and texture.
