Ingredients
  

Cake & Filling
  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix plus ingredients on box
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Coating & Decoration
  • 12 oz orange candy melts
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies optional for coating
  • 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup purple candy melts for drizzle
  • candy eyeballs various sizes
  • mini M&M’s green or purple, optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Bake cake according to package directions and let cool.
  2. Crumble cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
  3. Mix crumbs with softened cream cheese until combined.
  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and chill.
  5. Melt orange candy melts until smooth.
  6. Dip balls in coating, decorate with sprinkles and eyeballs.
  7. Drizzle with purple candy melts.
  8. Let truffles set before serving.
