Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Custard
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Crust
  • 1 deep-dish pie crust 9-inch
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Prebake pie crust if needed and set aside.
  2. Cook sausage in skillet until browned, then drain fat.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened.
  4. Layer sausage mixture into pie crust and sprinkle cheeses on top.
  5. Whisk eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then pour over sausage and cheese.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
  7. Cool 10 minutes before slicing, garnish with green onions.

Notes

Can be made ahead and refrigerated. Reheat slices in the oven or microwave.
