- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla and mix well.

- Fold in candied fruit, raisins, and nuts.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets.
- Bake 14–16 minutes until set and lightly browned.
