  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil optional
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cooking for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Add thinly sliced potatoes and pour in beef broth and cream. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  6. Sprinkle cheese over top, cover again, and cook for 3–5 minutes until melted.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve hot straight from the skillet.
