Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk, orange juice, zest, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined (do not overmix).
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spoon batter into liners, filling ¾ full. Top with chocolate chips and orange pieces if desired.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra indulgence, drizzle muffins with melted chocolate or glaze with orange icing.
