  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp peppermint extract
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt

  • 0.5 cup crushed peppermint candies

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate; cool slightly.
  3. Whisk sugars and eggs until thick.
  4. Add extracts and melted chocolate.
  5. Fold in dry ingredients and peppermint.
  6. Scoop dough onto sheets and bake 10–12 minutes.

Notes

Cool slightly before transferring to maintain fudgy texture.
