  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk plus more if needed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter plus extra for skillet
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Dip each sausage patty into the pancake batter and coat completely.
  7. Cook dipped sausage patties in skillet until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  8. Serve stacked with butter and maple syrup.
