Easy oven-baked tuna melts with creamy tuna filling and perfectly melted cheese, made all at once on a sheet pan.

Ingredients
  

Tuna Mixture
  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Assembly
  • 8 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 8 slices cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, red onion, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until combined.
  3. Arrange bread on sheet pan and butter one side of each slice.
  4. Flip bread butter-side down and spread tuna mixture evenly on top.
  5. Top with cheese slices and bake for 10–12 minutes until melted.
  6. Broil for 1–3 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve warm.

Notes

Best served fresh for maximum crispness and melt.
