Ingredients
  

Chicken Base
  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
Garnish
  • fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Mixing bowls
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Place sliced onion and garlic into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Lay chicken breasts on top and season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Pour chicken broth over the chicken and add butter on top.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 1.5–2 hours until chicken reaches 165°F.
  5. Remove chicken, rest 5 minutes, then slice or shred.
  6. Return shredded chicken to juices if desired. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

Cook on LOW for best results. Do not overcook.
