- Sauté onion, bell pepper, and celery in butter and oil.
- Add okra and cook until slightly softened.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings.
- Pour in broth and simmer 25–30 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook 5–7 minutes until pink.
- Stir in lemon juice and adjust seasoning.
- Serve over rice and garnish with herbs.
Notes
Sautéing okra helps reduce sliminess. Great served over white rice.
