Ingredients
  

Sweet Potato Filling
  • 3 lbs sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup pure maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Pecan Topping
  • 0.75 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.33 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Boil sweet potatoes until fork-tender; drain and mash.
  2. Mix mashed potatoes with butter, maple syrup, sugar, eggs, cream, vanilla, and spices.
  3. Spread mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  4. Combine topping ingredients until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle topping over sweet potatoes.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes until golden.

Notes

Can be assembled a day ahead and baked before serving.
