Ingredients
  

Beef Filling
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium carrots diced
  • 1 cup peas frozen
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
Mashed Potato Topping
  • 2 lb potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Pot
  • Baking dish

Method
 

  1. Boil and mash potatoes with butter and milk.
  2. Cook onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
  3. Brown beef and stir in spices, tomato paste, carrots, and broth.
  4. Simmer, add peas, then transfer to baking dish.
  5. Top with mashed potatoes and bake at 375°F until golden.

Notes

Adjust spices to taste for more or less heat.
