Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups Chex cereal Rice, Corn, or a mix
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup mixed nuts optional
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup light corn syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt plus more for garnish
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips or M&Ms optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Chex, pretzels, and nuts.
  3. Melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in saucepan; bring to a gentle boil for 3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Pour toffee over dry mix, toss to coat evenly.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Cool completely, sprinkle with sea salt, and add chocolate chips if desired.
