Method
- Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar until frothy.
- Mix butter, egg, salt, and flour to form dough; knead until smooth.
- Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Prepare garlic butter mixture with olive oil, melted butter, herbs, and garlic.
- Roll dough into rectangle, brush with garlic butter, and sprinkle cheese.
- Roll up, slice lengthwise, twist, and place in loaf pan.
- Let rise again 30–40 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
- Cool slightly and brush with more butter before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. Can be frozen for up to 2 months and reheated in oven before serving.
