Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast 1 packet
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm milk about 110°F
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg
Filling
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted, for brushing

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar until frothy.
  2. Mix butter, egg, salt, and flour to form dough; knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare garlic butter mixture with olive oil, melted butter, herbs, and garlic.
  5. Roll dough into rectangle, brush with garlic butter, and sprinkle cheese.
  6. Roll up, slice lengthwise, twist, and place in loaf pan.
  7. Let rise again 30–40 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
  8. Cool slightly and brush with more butter before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Can be frozen for up to 2 months and reheated in oven before serving.
