Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Filling
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil or chives chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm water with sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in oil, salt, and flour to form dough, then knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise until doubled.
  4. Roll dough, spread garlic herb butter, and add cheese.
  5. Roll, slice, twist, and place into pan.
  6. Bake until golden and brush with butter.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting.
