- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 8-inch round pans and line with parchment.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
- Beat in softened butter until mixture resembles sand.
- Add oil, eggs, milk, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix gently until smooth.
- Divide batter between pans and bake 25–30 minutes.
- Cool cakes completely on wire racks.
- Prepare frosting by whipping butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream.
- Assemble and frost cake.
