Ingredients
  

Candy Coating
  • 6 medium apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 tsp white gel food coloring
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp edible white glitter or pearl dust
  • 1 tbsp white sanding sugar (optional)

  • Candy thermometer
  • Wooden sticks
  • Parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly, remove stems, and insert wooden sticks.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook without stirring until candy thermometer reads 300°F (150°C).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in white gel coloring and vanilla extract.
  5. Dip apples one at a time, swirling to coat evenly, and place on parchment paper.
  6. Sprinkle edible glitter and sanding sugar before the coating hardens.
  7. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed within 2 days. Keep in a cool, dry place to preserve shine and texture.
