Orange Chocolate Chip Muffins
There’s something incredibly magical about the pairing of bright citrus and rich chocolate. On their own, both are irresistible. But when they meet inside a warm, tender muffin, you get a treat that’s both comforting and just a little bit fancy. Orange Chocolate Chip Muffins are exactly the kind of recipe I like to pull out when the weekend calls for a cozy breakfast, when neighbors are dropping by, or when I simply want to fill my kitchen with the scent of home baking.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup whole milk (or buttermilk for tang)
- 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
- Optional: small orange segments for garnish on top

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk, orange juice, zest, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gently fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined (do not overmix).
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spoon batter evenly into muffin liners, filling about ¾ full.
- Top with extra chocolate chips and optional orange pieces.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
