Halloween Whoopie Pies Treat

When the crisp October nights roll in and the house fills with pumpkins, cobwebs, and flickering candles, I can’t resist baking something fun and festive. Halloween has always been a holiday of imagination for me—costumes, spooky decorations, and of course, treats that feel both playful and indulgent. One of my family’s favorite Halloween desserts has to be these Halloween Whoopie Pies.

Think soft, chocolatey cakes sandwiched around a fluffy cream filling that’s tinted in orange and white for a seasonal pop of color. They’re as delightful to look at as they are to eat. You can dress them up with little candy eyes or plastic spiders for a spooky finish, making them an absolute hit for Halloween parties, classroom celebrations, or just cozy evenings at home with a scary movie.

The first time I made these, I had toddlers dressed as pumpkins and fairies running around the kitchen while I piped orange filling between chocolate cakes. The giggles that followed—sticky fingers and frosting smiles—are forever etched in my memory. Now, every October, it’s a tradition to bring out these treats, and they never fail to spark joy.

They’re easy enough to whip up on a weeknight but look like something straight from a bakery. The cakes are soft, almost brownie-like, while the filling is silky and sweet, with just the right touch of creaminess. And the best part? They’re customizable! You could swap out the orange for purple or green if you want to play with other Halloween colors.

So grab your mixing bowl, channel your spooky spirit, and let’s bake a batch of these festive whoopie pies.
